Known as “The City Beautiful”, Orlando is the county seat of Orange County. It is located in Central Florida and is also known as “The Theme Park Capital of the World”. Drawing more than 62 million visitors in 2014, Orlando is well know for its tourist attractions and events.
Orlando’s famous attractions form the backbone of its tourism industry. In fact, it’s one of the world’s most visited tourist destinations. Walt Disney World is located about 21 miles southwest of the downtown section of Orlando. Other major attractions are located along International Drive, known to locals as I-drive. Orlando is also one of the busiest cities in the United States for conferences and conventions. The Orange County Convention Center is the second-largest convention facility in America.
Orlando residents and visitors alike also enjoy other less famous attractions such as Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts, the Orlando Science Center and the Amway Center, a sports and entertainment venue located in the Downtown Orlando area.
